I will be adding some pages to this blog in the short future. It is my goal to set up a how to for junkies. starting with how and where to score and going through on how cook and shoot your dope.
First there are a few ground rules to scoring heroin on the street.
1. Never let your money walk. Under no circumstances ever let your money out of your grip if you haven't at least seen the dope, and the dealer is in the process of handing it over.
2. Whenever possible buy from Mexicans. Heroin on the west coast is all from Mexico. The best dope and the best prices are generally with Mexican dealers.
3. Watch your back. No one else is going to. Remember that the people you are dealing with are crack heads, or junkies. Crack head are actually worse. They will burn you in a second if it meant that they get to take that hit, and they will go to extraordinary measures to rip you off for almost nothing. I have seriously had crack heads steal dirty socks from me. Race can also play a large role. Races tend to stick together. If you are white (like me) you are going to have to be extra careful. Most of the people in the areas you will be frequenting are black. Not all of them will actively join in on violence or theft, but almost none of them will attempt to prevent it. I am not trying to imply that the white folks on the streets are any better than black ones. White people will try to rip you off too, but if you have three black guys trying to shake you down, a white guy is more likely to help.
4. Don't keep all your money together. You do not want to flash a wad of cash. You also do not want to have to take your money out and count it. I usually keep different amounts in different pockets. I will put a ten in my back pocket and a twenty in one of my front pockets. I then put all the rest of my cash in my fifth pocket. I do not take a wallet. Wallets are too easy to steal.
5. Don't get ripped off. I know its easier said than done. First off if the deal seems shady walk away. If the guy seems desperate to make the sale, walk away. If the guy drastically lowers his prices to get you to buy, walk away. Secondly open the dope right away. Keep the guy in view. Its a good idea to walk with him while you open it. Its also a good idea to tell him that before you buy the dope. I sometimes say "and your'e gonna stand here while I make sure this shit is real, right?" Once the money is out of your hands it becomes difficult to get it back if the dope is not real. I have gotten my money back a few times, and I've also had 6 black guys pull out knives and had to run for my life. When you are trying to get your money back, Be forceful and aggressive. Don't ask, Demand. "Give me my fucking money back". Putting your hand on a knife, while its still in your pocket can help. If the douche bag is not giving the money back, get loud. Draw attention to yourselves. The dealer does not want people to know he sells bunk shit, and he has a lot more to lose should the police show up. It is just as illegal to sell fake heroin as it is to sell real heroin. Watch your back extra carefully at this point though. You are apt to get stuck, or sucker punched. Like I said the races stick together.
6. Watch out for the pigs. Keep your eyes open and be alert to your surroundings. You don't want to look like you're paranoid though. That will only draw attention to yourself. In cities like San Francisco the under cover cops really don't look like cops. They will have tattoos, and facial piercings and everything. Don't approach someone and ask them for drugs. Its usually a better idea to just walk around, and make eye contact. The dealers will ask you. Sometimes they say , "you looking?" which can be tricky because they aren't asking you to break the law. The proper response to that is "whatcha got?" If they say, what do you want, walk away. There are two reasons for that. First if they are a cop they can't charge you with a crime that they enticed you into doing. Offering you drugs is entrapment. If you ask for them by name before they offer them, that is not entrapment. The second reason is you do not want to deal with anyone that does not have the dope on them. Remember, never let your money walk, and try to stay away from middle men too. They will just increase the price you pay
I will probably add more as I think of them. There are lots of little things that go into it.
San Francisco. By far the easiest place to score heroin in San Francisco is on Leavenworth street.

If you simply walk along the green line you will have numerous people try to sell you all sorts of shit. Generally they will say "Chiva" when your'e walking buy if they have heroin. you will also hear "OC's" "Morphine" "vicodin" "percocett" and even "pins" for colanapins. All of these are fun, but Chiva is by far the best.
Leavenworth is a one way street going north and you can only get onto the first block of it from the east. There is usually parking on the left side of the first block though. Its a shitty enough neighborhood that I often shoot up in my car parked right where the marker is on the map.
Finally there are lots of street names for heroin. Most of the people on the street call it chiva. sometimes you will also hear "tar", "Smack", "H", "Heron", and "Hop". There are a lot of other names for it, but I don't think I've ever actually heard someone that actually did drugs use one of them.
Just for fun I will discuss the places that you used to score in San Francisco when I was using in the late 90's early 00's.
The Chiva spot in the tenderloin has shifted a little bit. It used to be on the corners of jones and eddy. There is a small park there. That was before they built the tenderloin police precinct caddy corner from it though. Although there still was a lot of chiva there even after the precinct was opened.
16th and mission used to be a huge heroin spot. It was bigger than the spots in the tenderloin, although it was usually not open as late. The tenderloin tended to be a better place to go during the middle of the night. 16th and mission was where you went to buy 1 and 1s, which is a small bag of heroin and a small bag of cocaine wrapped up in a balloon. Its what I started on and still my favorite way to fly. Its amazing what they have done to 16th and mission though. They have really cleaned it up. There are no more 1 and 1's, in fact when I've been there I haven't seen any drug dealers at all. There is still quite a bit of crack in the surrounding blocks, but no real heroin. I salute whoever got that place cleaned up. I do think its sad though. There are no more 1 and 1's available in San Francisco. In fact I have been unable to find any powdered cocaine in that entire city. Thats a fucking tragedy.
6th and mission used to be crack central. There is still a lot of crack there, but theres also some H now too. You still have a lot of the crack head people hanging out on the street. The dealers that I know down there though are a different breed though. They are clean, wearing clean clothes, and have cellphones. It seems like a closer community than the tenderloin. I like that. Of course I'm white so I'm not going to be accepted into that community, but its nice to know that other people have it.
